put the patient in the best condition for Nature to act upon them."

Welcome: About

STRESS AND ILLNESS

There are many reasons why we get sick.  Environmental toxins, bacteria, viruses, un-healthy life style behaviors, and hereditary issues are just some of the causes of dis-ease.  Our thoughts and emotions also contribute to dis-ease as we hold onto limiting beliefs and negative emotions.  These are all stressors to our body that can affect our ability to ward off an illness. Even if one has suffered an accident or injury, we now have the stress of recovery and possible new limitations that will affect our life going forward.   Without going into the science behind the stress response, suffice it to say that stress, especially chronic stress, interferes with our body's natural healing abilities. In fact, chronic stress can disrupt almost all our body's processes and puts us at increased risk for numerous health problems.

When dealing with a chronic or serious condition, life can become overwhelming, scary, and difficult, which heaps stress upon stress.  Estimates are that between 75-90% of all visits to the doctor are for stress related issues.

Traditional western medicine is great at fixing. Western medical care helps us manage symptoms and regain function by prescribing medications, specific treatments, or surgery.

However, western medicine is not so good at helping us manage the stress in our lives.  Learning how to release accumulated stress and incorporate healing practices into your life will give your natural healing capabilities  a much needed boost.

Welcome: About

THE ART OF HEALING

Our bodies have amazing and effective self-healing mechanisms that are always working to keep us in balance and harmony.  These self-correcting processes become overwhelmed and less effective in the presence of chronic stress, illness, or injury.   When we release the stress in our bodies and minds through a variety of practices, our self-healing mechanisms begin to function better, bringing us back into harmony and balance.

Healing is not a spectator sport.  Putting your body/mind in the best condition for nature to act takes time, commitment, and patience.  You will greatly enhance your health as you become an active participant in your healing process.

I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that engaging in stress releasing therapies will shift you towards greater harmony and balance.
